Roland Garros - the most loved place by Spanish superstar Rafael Nadal, the home of the French Open is the smallest Grand Slam venue among the four majors of the sport. In the last few years the site has been severely criticized for its diminutive size, incapable of handling the game's present needs. In 2011, The French Tennis Federation which had been under pressure for its uninspiring attitude towards the venue had announced a redevelopment plan that would increase the size of the complex by 60%. However, the intended expansion to be finished by 2017 will only be over a year later in 2018.
