Premier tournament on the WTA Tour. Until 2010 the tournament was part of the ATP World Tour 250
series of the ATP Tour. It is held just before the fourth and last Grand Slam tournament of the year, the
US Open. Caroline Wozniacki won the title for four years back to back with Petra Kvitova winning the
title last year.
