The Mercedes Cup is an ATP World Tour 250 series tennis tournament on the ATP Tour. Held since 1916
in Stuttgart, Germany, the Mercedes Cup is played on clay courts. Between 1970 and 1989 this was a
Grand Prix tennis circuit event. Thomas Muster of Austria won the title twice in consecutive years (1995
and 1996). This tournament is famous for awarding the title winner with a Mercedes car, on top of the
prize money. Janko Tipsarevic is the defending champion.
