The Copa Claro is an annual tennis event held in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The tournament is an ATP World Tour 250 is played on outdoor clay courts at the 5,500 capacity Buenos Aires Lawn Tennis Club, in the Palermo barrio neighborhood. Usually held in February, it includes both a men's singles and a men's doubles tournament. Between 1970 and 1989 it was part of the Grand Prix tennis circuit. Spaniard David Ferrer outplayed fellow Spaniard Nicolas Almagro to win the title in 2012.

Ferrer trumps Wawrinka to defend the Copa Claro title
David Ferrer had successfully defended his Copa Claro crown on the red dirt of Argentina's capital - Buenos Aires against an opponent who can be aptly called as 'Unlucky' right now. Stanislas Wawrinka took out a set from the Spaniard as he went into his shell in the second set. Nevertheless, in the end he was just too strong for the world no.17 as he completed a 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 triumph over the Swiss no.2 in an hour and 45 minutes and with that the Valencia resident has defended two of his crowns from 2012.
