Roger Federer confident of Australian Open success despite loss to Lleyton Hewitt 17 times Grand Slam champion Roger Federer who struggled all through the year in 2013, suffered yet another setback on Sunday as he was upset by the home hero Lleyton Hewitt in the final of the Brisbane International - a key tune-up event before the Australian Open in Melbourne. However, the Swiss later said that he was not overly saddened by his run in the capital of Queensland.

Lleyton Hewitt stuns Roger Federer, captures Brisbane title Home hero Lleyton Hewitt accomplished a fairytale victory over the overwhelming favorite Roger Federer to clinch the Brisbane International title here in Brisbane on Sunday. One of the fiercest competitors of all time, Hewitt had to put in place the best of his fighting capabilities in that decisive set when Federer had seven break chances to break his serve on three different occasions, but as he had done so many times in the past, the Australian simply produced the performance for the ages to survive all those scares and eventually nudged out the top seed 6-3 in the third.

Ruthless Serena tops Azarenka to win Brisbane WTA title In a blockbuster final on Saturday, top-seeded Serena Williams of USA took on the World No. 2 Victoria Azarenka of Belarus and we witnessed enthralling tennis that left us awestruck on many occasions during the match. It did not come as a surprise for us, as both contenders produced some high quality tennis - which was expected from them. In the end, top-seed Serena Williams defended her title by defying a strong challenge of Azarenka in straight sets 6-4 7-5 at the Pat Rafter Arena and made a best possible start to 2014 season.
