The Bank of the West Classic is a week-long tennis tournament on the WTA Tour held on the campus of
Stanford University in California, United States. Started in 1971, the tournament is the oldest women's-
only tournament in the world and is played on outdoor hard courts. It is the first women's tournament
in the annual US Open Series. Martina Navratilova holds the record for the most singles titles with 5
titles. Serena Williams won the title last year.
