TennisEarth Rating - Details

TennisEarth.com Rating (TER) is a revolutionary rating system designed for Amateur tennis players. It allows you to rate and rank your tennis game with any one else in the world. Using this system, you can keep records of all the friendly or competitive matches that you have played and then obtain your rating. This rating is based on:

1. Match result (Win, Loss or Draw)
2. Sets won vs lost
3. Games won vs lost
4. Difference in the ratings of the 2 teams playing.

For example, if you beat an opponent who has been rated much higher than you, you will win more points because you have beaten a very good opponent. Further, a win of 6-0, 6-0 will get you more points than a win of 6-4, 6-3.

This is a universal rating applicable for both the professionals and amateur tennis players, though they initially start with different points. Gradually, players reach their correct rating after playing at least 10 matches and uploading their scores.

Important information:

1. Deadline for submitting and verifying any week's scores is the following Tuesday midnight GMT. After that, the ratings are finalized.
2. The ratings are calculated for singles and doubles (separately) at the turn of every hour.
3. Your latest ratings may change during the week due to the effect of other matches played before your's but submitted later.
4. You can also check your rankings amongst a subset of players (for example Singles, Male, Under 30 players from UK) or your other club members at Group Rankings page.
