It is often said that there are a few things in life that should not be compared - pain, emotions, love and sometimes personal achievements. However, true to form, we all believe in categorizing things, making countdowns, best and worst lists. We all blame others for being judgemental at some point in our life and yet secretly follow the same pattern towards others with equal passion and tenacity.

“Safina was very much looking forward to starting her year in Brisbane and it is a real shame that she will not be fit in time to attend,” said tournament director Steve Ayles

“I know she would have been working around the clock to try to be ready for the event but in the end time has beat her and she is still undergoing treatment.

“We wish her well with her return to tennis and would welcome her back to the Brisbane International in 2011.

Anti-climatic. They made such a big deal out of this that folks thought it'd be much worse. I wonder who are the idiots that came up with the insanely outrageous fine amount of one mil and losing ranking points? Anyhoo, glad it's over. It should have not taken this long to reach this decision.
