Good news-Carlos Moya along with Robin Soderling and Marin Cilic are amongst the big names playing in the Chennai Open from the 4th to the 10th January, 2010. Moya, Somdev Dev Varman and Rohan Bopanna are wildcard entries. As per reports this is probabaly Moya's last Chennai Open. Carlos Moya was instrumental in putting the tournament on the global tennis map. He also pairs with Indian teen sensation Yuki Bhambri in the Doubles, who to gets a wildcard entry.

Inspite of defeating World No. 1 Roger Federer in the Capitala World Tennis Championship at Abu Dhabi and reaching the finals of the same against Rafael Nadal, Robin Soderling was unable to reach the second round of Aircel Chennai Open. He suffered a shocking first round defeat at the hands of American Robby Ginepri at the 2010 Aircel Chennai Open, being played in Chennai, India.
