I find some of the big names missing from the nominations, most surprisingly, Andy Roddick's impressive run at Wimbledon? Wasn't it worth a mention...!

I find this Melanie Oudin so-called breakthrough nothing more than Media hype, look at her post US Open perfiormance, she could not even win a single match at the Fed Cup final, lost both her matches to Italians. Peng Shuai's success, on the other hand was much more formidable, she shone in the doubles arena as well.
What about Djoko, he won so many titles and triumphant in the end in Paris masters as well, isn't he worthy of a nomination for the player of the year....?
Also, Nobody mentioned Venus Williams, the WImbledon finalist and the yearend Doha finalist? I strongly disagree....

I don't agree, Roddick did beat Murray, and reached the final too but if u see , he doesnt fit the billing for any category of nominations, Are you suggesting that he get nominated for player of the year, c'mon dear, be realistic, that Wimbledon final doesn't call for such an awards nomination. And if you see all the nominees have been exceptional throughout the year, be it Rafa, Roger, DelPo or Davydenko who won every final he entered (5 titles)
