I feel better. The ankle is not bothering me any more, which is great news. I'm already slowly starting to release the protection from the ankle because I feel more and more stable on it. There's no pain, which is great. I love Italy. I also speak Italian, so I feel like a local. I respect the choices of a crowd and who they support and I understand it's not going to always be me.

Since we started playing on clay in Europe, I've realised that my drive is working again at its high level. I'm able to open the angles and play a lot of winning points. I thought it was the right decision because, luckily for me, nothing really happened when I twisted the ankle during the match. It was a slight moment. I had good protection on my ankle. So right now that is the only positive thing that I look into, is that I didn't injure my ankle worse before Rome and Paris.

I've just been home and practicing hard as I was hoping to. I feel good now. It took me a little time to get over my back issue from Indian Wells. But at the same time, that collided with my vacation anyway, which was okay, so I didn't lose much time there. For me, it was important to take a bit of a rest - not too long - just enough so I'm really sort of tough to beat in the next few months.

There is definitely a gap. The four players are the ones who are winning all the Grand Slams and major tournaments. Men's tennis is in a very high level; competition is getting stronger. But we cannot count out all the other players outside of the Four. Players like Ferrer, Berdych and Tsonga. These kind of players have shown in the past that they're able to win against the Four. That's why men's tennis is now very interesting. I guess the experience that we have playing on a top level and winning that many major titles helps us get that necessary confidence and also I guess emotional stability in some crucial moments during the match. He has the capacity to play in a very, very high level because he's very talented. He's an all round player and he showed it. With his style of the game, you think that he can play his best on the hard courts and the faster courts, but he showed in Monte-Carlo when he pushed Nadal to three sets, he can play equally well on clay.

I find it unfair that the names of the cheats are not given, whether they're Spanish or not. The image that this verdict gives our country is not the best. It seems to me to be a mistake not to reveal the names of the cheats so that at least they can feel the contempt of fellow sportsmen and feel ashamed. The ruling wasn't positive for anyone. The only ones that benefited were those who cheated. The ones that are hurt are Spanish athletes and sports in general. The image this transmits to the world isn't the one we were hoping for. I think it is a mistake that the names are not known, but that is what happened. We will keep working so that sports stay clean and this doesn't happen again in the future.

I have been feeling pretty good from beginning of the year. He didn't come with me in Stuttgart, so when I was here, so many people asked me; are you still working with Carlos? And I said, Of course. I was so happy he could come onto my team to coach me. I think for me he's not only the tennis coach. I think after I was working with him I feel much stronger in my mind and also much stronger on the court. I trust him a lot. He was not in Stuttgart, but we have contact by email, text message, so he knew exactly what I did on the court. After Stuttgart we had a lot email contacts to prepare what we should do here.
