About Me

Nicknamed “Steps” - Radek Stepanek is one of the few serve and volley experts left in the singles’ game today. The Czech is a former World No.8, and he played a key role in helping his country clinch the Davis Cup in 2012 for the first time since 1980. His glory days in the singles’ department are however past him, his best season came in 2006. The right-hander has won 5 career titles so far.

- Andy Murray made a hat trick of titles at the Aegon Championships when he overcame a rain delay and a first set deficit to beat defending champion Marin Cilic in three extremely close sets.
It was definitely tough. I think we were both really nervous in the beginning and then after two games I settled down a little bit and relaxed. Toward the end, Julia brought her game to another level and I was struggling. I'm really happy with my service game at 5-5. I made two aces, which I rarely do, and after that I settled down and it was fine. It was a great atmosphere with the home crowd, although they didn't really know who to cheer for. And the nice thing is with all the injuries that I really appreciate it much more now and I'm really happy about any kind of win. It doesn't matter where or when or which round, so I'm really happy.

- Andrea Petkovic earned a straight sets victory over her compatriot Julia Goerges on Wednesday and secured her birth in the first quarterfinals of the season in Nurnberg WTA Event.
Today I think I could read him good. Then I think I put pressure on him and he forced a lot. I was ready for his main spot to be covered. Then, I think he forced a lot and that helped me a lot. It's a great tournament. It's a great spirit. The stadium is beautiful and there's always a good crowd. I like the German crowd. They're into it. So, it's good, it's noisy. It's the kind of stadium I like to play on. I just feel good here.

- Gael Monfils earned a comprehensive 6-4 6-2 victory over fifth-seeded Milos Raonic of Canada on Tuesday at the Gerry Weber Open and secured his berth in this ATP World Tour 250 Event.
