Category		Description
ITN \| 1		This player has had intensive training for national tournament competition at the junior and senior levels and has extensive professional tournament experience. Holds or is capable of holding an ATP/WTA ranking and major source of income is through tournament price money.
ITN \| 2		This player has developed power and / or consistency as a major weapon. Can vary strategies and styles of play in a competitive situation. Is usually a nationally ranked player.
ITN \| 3		This player has good shot anticipation and frequently has an outsanding shot or attribute around which a game may be structured. Can regularly hit winners and force errors off short balls. Can put away volleys and smashes and has a variety of serves to rely on.
ITN \| 4		This player can use power and spin and has begun to handle pace. Has sound footwork, can control depth of shots, and can vary game plan according to opponents. Can hit first serves with power and can impart spin on second serves.
ITN \| 5		This player has dependable strokes, including directional control and depth on both ground stokes and on moderate shots. Has the ability to use lobs, overheads, approach shots and volleys with some success.
ITN \| 6		This player exhibits more aggressive net play, has improved court coverage, improved shot control and is developing team work in doubles.
ITN \| 7		This player is fairly consistent when hitting medium paced shots, but is not yet comfortable with all strokes. Lacks control over depth, direction and power.
ITN \| 8		This player is able to judge where the ball is going and can sustain a short rally at slow pace.
ITN \| 9		This player needs on court experience but strokes can be completed with some success.
ITN \| 10		This player is starting to play competitively (can serve and return / rally) on a full court using a normal ITF approved ball. Further split across:
		10.1 - This player is able to rally with movement and control
		10.2 - This player has developed some simple tennis-specific skills in hitting an incoming ball regularly, however rallying with movement and control is not yet achieved.
		10.3 - This player is in the early stages of tennis skills development and is primarily learning simple tennis coordination tasks / exercises.

It's been a really tough decision, and I love playing in Paris, but after seeking medical advice I'm not fit to compete. Apologies to the organisers and thanks to everyone for the messages of support. Now my complete focus is on getting back on the court as soon as possible.

- Andy Murray of Great Britain pulled out of the 2013 French Open with a back injury.
I mean it's been done before. I've done it myself, but you sort of have to beat yourself. The level (Serena's) at when she's playing well, I don't think anybody can beat her. Anybody, no matter great they are, everybody has bad days. Unless something happens that's unforeseen, it would be pretty hard-pressed to make an argument for anyone other than (Novak) Djokovic to beat him. It's similar to Serena. It's possible because maybe mentally he'll have a slight letdown because he's won it so many times, and maybe there will be that day where he has that off day.

- John McEnroe believes that compatriot Serena Williams and reigning champion Rafael Nadal are the hands down favourites at the upcoming French Open in Paris.
I am playing well and I am healthy, so I have everything to play for next week. This week was good to get an idea about what is working. Novak has beaten Rafa once in Monaco, so he knows how to win, but only Robin Soderling has beaten him in Paris. It will be difficult.

- Roger Federer remained positive about his prospects at Roland Garros and also admitted that Rafael Nadal would be a favorite going into the second Grand Slam of the year.
If you told me four or five months ago that after eight tournaments I would have won six titles from eight finals, I would say you are crazy. To win three Master 1000 and two 500 tournaments is more than I ever dreamed.

- Rafael Nadal reclaimed the Spanish No.1 spot by becoming the new World No.4, overtaking fellow countryman David Ferrer.
I'd be very surprised if I was playing in Paris. I felt pain today, the same as in Madrid. I took a few days off after Madrid. I hit yesterday and played some points. But I was still sore today. We will have to wait and see on Paris. I'll try to make a decision after the next five days or so. I need some days off for it to hopefully settle down. (The back) has not been perfect for a long period, I want it to start feeling good again. Everyone goes into matches with niggles, but this is very frustrating. Some shots hurt more on clay because the movement is so exaggerated. I don't want to go into details, but I've got a disc problem, it changes week to week. It's been an issue for a while, but I want to make sure it goes away.

- Andy Murray has admitted that he could miss the French Open after a recurring lower back injury forced him to retire from his match against Marcel Granollers at the Rome Masters yesterday.
