The match started under tight circumstances when both players gallantly held their serves before Youzhny got an elusive break in the eleventh game to close out the set by 7 games to 5. The second set turned out to be a real nail-biter when both players saved several break points tp push the set into a decisive tie-break, which Youzhny dominated and clinched the 7-5, 7-6(4) victory to reach the final.
He now awaits the winner of the match between Novak Djokovic and Marcos Baghdatis, who take courts later today.
