Top seed and tour leader Caroline Wozniacki brushed aside the challenge of Chinese Taipei's Kai-Chen Chang to move to the third round of the 2010 US Open, the season's last slam being played here in Flushing Meadows, USA.

The top seeded Dane opened the match on a bright note and reeled off 12 games in a row to complete the 6-0, 6-0 win over Chang.
In another exciting match from the day, Wimbledon finalist Vera Zvonareva defeated German Sabine Lisicki 6-1, 7-6(5) in a see-saw battle to move ahead in the draw. She was later joined by American Beatrice Capra, who survived a three set marathon against Frenchwoman Aravane Rezai, winnig 7-5, 2-6, 6-3 in two hours and 13 minutes of play.
Other notable winners of the day include 2009 semifinalist Yanina Wickmayer, Yung-Jan Chan and Patty Schnyder, who all registered convincing victories to move ahead in the draw.
