Third-seeded Caroline Wozniacki defeated the spirited Russian Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in straight sets with a 7-5 6-4 scoreline and reached the fourth round of Wimbledon. It took over an hour and half for Wozniacki to defeat the superb forehand player Pavlyuchenkova.
Wozniacki won the first set pretty convincingly, as she got the decisive break in the 12th game and wrapped it up quickly. Pavlyuchenkova played really well in the second set and did not allow Wozniacki to run away with the match. Wozniacki got broken in the opening game of the second set, but she saved two break points to avoid going down 0-3 before breaking Pavlyuchenkova in the fourth and final games of the set to advance.

The Russian made 28 unforced errors to Wozniacki’s 16 and they played the important role in deciding the winner of the match. In the next round, Wozniacki will face unseeded Czech Petra Kvitova, who upset 14th-seeded Victoria Azarenka 7-5 6-0.
In men’s matches, sixth-seeded Swede Robin Soderling advanced to the fourth round of Wimbledon after earning a straight-sets victory over Thomaz Bellucci of Brazil with a 6-4 6-2 7-5 scoreline in just under two hours.
After winning the first two sets comprehensively, Soderling faced a stiff challenge from Belluci in the third set, but he diligently saved three break points in the final game of the match and emerged victorious.
Soderling will play the winner of the match between ninth-seeded David Ferrer and Jeremy Chardy.
