Federer bt Murray 4-6, 7-5, 6-3, 6-4,
For the first time at Wimbledon Andy Murray was in the final, for the first time at Wimbledon, Roger Federer had to face a hostile crowd. The Scot was being spurred on by an entire nation as the Scot looked to end Britain’s 76 year drought at Grand Slams. The World No.4 played a stunning opening set to take the set 6-4. Murray continued to attack Federer and had a break in that second set too, but failed to keep the pressure up as Federer got into top gear.
The Swiss Maestro saved his best tennis for the match and this despite his stunning display against Djokovic in the semis. He took his seventh Wimbledon crown with that win, and some of the tennis in those three sets was vintage Roger Federer, something that most thought was beyond the Champion.
