Victoria Azarenka is ranked at number 5 in the world. On the other hand Marion Bartoli is ranked within the top 10 at 9 among the WTA rankings.
Azarenka has been taking charge of her performances in the year. The player from Belarus has earned straight set wins against Shuai Peng and Elena Baltacha will be targeting wins over the top ten and has obtained a tough draw at the Aegon International this year. She will be facing Bartoli in the quarterfinals of the event.
Bartoli has been in smashing form this year with final performances at Indian Wells and at Strasbourg. She sizzled on French clay as she managed to reach the semi-final at Roland Garros and was stopped only with the two time French Open Champion, Francesca Schiavone.
Both the players have met six times before and the head to head stands at 6-0 in Azarenka’s favour. Azarenka has been using her acute angled forehands to extreme angles in the court. On the other hand Bartoli can pepper the lines with her double handed ground strokes. Azarenka should be able to come through in three tight sets.
