Victoria Azarenka pulls out from the Madrid Open
Former World No.1 Victoria Azarenka has withdrawn from the Mutua Madrid Open due to the same foot injury that had forced her to pull out from the Sony Open in Miami.

Former two-time Australian Open champion Victoria Azarenka has pulled out of the upcoming tournaments in Madrid and Rome – the two key events for the second Major of the year, the French Open to be held in Paris. The Belarusian who has struggled with a series of injuries since last year is once again nursing a foot injury that has denied her a chance to compete at the highest level. She had last played in Indian Wells where she lost her opening match to the American teenager Lauren Davis in straight sets.

The current World No.4 announced her withdrawal from the two competitions on her Twitter page that read: "Just wanted to give everyone an update on my recovery. Working hard to get fit again. Will be in touch soon..."

The post also included a video in which she was heard saying, "Hey, everybody, unfortunately I won't be competing in Madrid and Rome this year."
