2012 Australian Open champion Victoria Azarenka of Belarus sent a strong message to her fellow competitors at the Toray Pan Pacific Open after humbling Tamira Pazsek in straight sets 6-1, 6-1 in minutes to reach the second round.
The first set was Azarenka all the way as she took the first set in 23 minutes. With 6 winners and a high percentage of first serves at 70%, it was Azarenka who did not let Paszek even hold once in the opening set. Though she got herself broken in the fifth game, she did not let that glitch distract her as she kept the attack going and breaking the Austrian again to take the set. Azarenka broke the Pazsek serve thrice in three given opportunities.
The second set was a similar story after Azarenka dominated the set from the start with a break in the very first game. With errors flowing from the Pazsek corner, Azarenka did not have to do much besides just waiting for the opportunities and letting Pazsek commit all the errors. Though Pazsek tried her level best to fight back, she was not successful as Azarenka’s accuracy and consistency was too strong for her.
Azarenka raised her arms in victory after breaking Paszek for a sixth time in the match.

It's not even a test, Paszek is a one trick pony.

Vika has had some weird matches against Paszek this year, so think she wasn't going to mess about today.

Good win, but Paszek's serve was asking for it with Vika's return.

Vika was as good as she needed to be. She could've 'bagelled' her but think concentration was an issue as Paszek was no threat and her own worst enemy today. Vinci will be tough to put away, though this being a faster hard court won't do her too many favours.
