Venus Williams eying 4th WTA Miami title
The former world number 1 is looking forward to clinching her 4th Sony Ericsson Open title. Playing at home, Venus knows the conditions well and also enjoy a huge support.

Venus Williams has a first-round bye in Miami at the Sony Ericsson Open. Her opening match is scheduled against Sorana Cirstea, for Thursday night.

Pretty relaxed over her recent performances, Venus said she'd been looking forward to this event - “It’s nice to play at home. There’s so much support from the crowd, and so much friends and family look forward to watching me play.” She further added, “I can still swing my racket pretty well in her memory.”

About her current tennis schedule and sister Serena Williams, who is not playing in the tournament due to a knee injury, Venus said, “Serena and I have done some great career planning and are playing at the peak of our tennis right now. Tennis has been a sport where you play this insane schedule from 14 years old, and at 26 it’s over. We’ve paced ourselves to play great tennis as long as we want.”
