One of the hottest players on the WTA Tour Ana Ivanovic prepares to face American upcoming star Sloane Stephens in the third round of the US Open. Both players have shown some great skill to progress through to this match.

Ivanovic has displayed some really high quality tennis off late and is knocking on the Top-10 door after some time (ranked 13th in the World) and would be hoping to reach there by this year end. With a decent record of 28-15 win-loss record this year, Ivanovic is still in search for her maiden WTA Tour title of 2012 and a good, healthy run would help Ivanovic a lot with respect to confidence and also her rank. With some spearing forehands and a good serve, Ivanovic’s will to win matches has seen her get back amongst the best in women’s tennis.

Stephens, on the hand comes into the US Open ranked 44 on the WTA Charts and has played some really impressive tennis so far. Still in the hunt for her first title, Stephens has managed a 27-20 win-loss record. She has tremendous potential in her and is definitely a girl look out for in the near future. She has some really heavy strokes and would want to use them against Ivanovic.

The two have met once before and co-incidentally here at the US Open last year in the same round! Ivanovic cruised through that match comfortably as Stephens seeks redemption.
