Former World No.1 Ana Ivanovic rolled back the years and dominated Swede Sofia Arvidsson in her second round clash. The former French Open champion continued to attack the Swede all though the match winning it 6-2,6-2 smashing a stunning 39 winners in the match.
The first set started off some way off script for Ivanovic, she was down two and three break points in the first two service games, but managed to ward off that threat. After that however, the Serb switched gears and broke Arvidsson in the sixth game of the set. The Serb then held on to her serve to make it 5-2. Arvidsson seemed to have lost her way after it, as she allowed the former world no.1 to break again. Ivanovic took the set 6-2 in the end.

In the second set, Ivanovic continued to attack Arvidsson with all the momentum behind her. She broke the early and then again in the fourth game to take a 4-0 lead. There was however a sting in the tail as the Swede bounced back to break Ivanovic in that fifth game, but in the very next game Ivanovic fought and broke her opponent back to get to serve for the match. Alas for it was not to be as Arvidsson brok back again to stretch the match and take us to a 5-2 scoreline for Ivanovic. The comeback was once again short lived as the Serb got another break to close out the match.
