Tsvetana Pironkova and Nadia Petrova take the court to face each other at the Brussels Open to seal a berth in the quarter-finals.
Tsvetana Pironkova squares off against Nadia Petrova in the second round of the Brussels Open. With both players struggling for results this year, a good match is on the cards as both the players are great hitters.
Pironkova, ranked 46th in the world has struggled to string together more than 2 matches and would be hoping to break that jinx today. Her backhand has failed to fire and in turn, her game has suffered. With a win-loss record favored more towards the negative side at 6-10, she would be aiming to improve this record by getting more wins under her belt.
Petrova on the other hand, is ranked 29th and has a dismal 10-9 win-loss record in 2012. A few quarter-finals performance has helped her get to the double figures with respect to her wins. A former World No.3, Petrova is looking to rekindle that same form as she aims to get higher up the rankings. Her serves and her forehand is something she will bank on today.
The two are facing each other for the very first time and its a tough one to call, who will be the winner.
