French star Jo-Wilfred had a good run at this year's Wimbledon Championships as he successfully reached the quarterfinals only to be stopped by the British champ Andy Murray. Tsonga is known for his charming nature and an aggressive match play which includes a huge serve and a splendid forehand to support it. He leads an distiguished array of other great professional players including Gael Monfils and Richar Gasquet. Tsonga has been consistently churning out decent performances at the ATP level. He has been performing at a great level even at the Grand Slams.
Tsonga will be representing France at this year's Davis Cup. He has been called in by Team Captain Guy Forget who also called Gael Monfils with an invitation to play at the Davis Cup which will be held next month. Tsonga will lead the team of French professionals into the Davis Cup to play against the former Davis Cup winners, Spain at Clermont-Ferrand. This year the Spanish team will come in to play the Davis Cup without Nadal in their team as the Spaniard has opted out of it due to trouble with his knees.
Tsonga will be a part of a team with great tennis players playing by his side. Julien Benneteau, Micheal Llorda, Richard Gasquet and Gael Monfils are all going to part of the French Davis Cup team. They will be playing the matches which will be held from July 9-11. With Nadal on the Spanish Team, French hopes of winning the tie would have been enhanced. Tsonga will have to maintain his composure as he does in all other matches to win his singles matches and put the pressure on Spain for a much wanted victory over the former Davis Cup champions.
