German Tommy Haas advanced to his 24th ATP World Tour final with a convincing 6-3, 7-5 victory over American Mardy Fish at the Citi Open on Saturday in Washington, D.C. Fish was the top seed for the tournament.
The match lasted for 93 minutes as Haas would be bidding for his 14th career title. Haas has already won a title this year at Halle where he beat Roger Federer and is now ranked 36 in the World as compared to 205 at the beginning of the year.
He next takes on second-seeded Ukrainian Alexandr Dolgopolov. World No. 25 Dolgopolov advanced to his fourth ATP World Tour final with a 6-4, 6-4 win over another American, Sam Querrey. Dolgopolov won a high percentage of points on his first serve and saved all five break points to wrap the match in 1 hour and 14 minutes. The Ukranian will be hoping to add another title to the one he won in Umag last year.
