Georgian Anna Tatishvili posted the upset of the day at Budapest Grand Prix on Monday as she bounced back from first set loss to beat third seeded Tsvetana Pironkova 1-6, 6-3, 6-1 in the first round.
Tatishvili will next face Vanda Lukacs of Hungary, who defeated countrywoman Henrietta Habler 6-2, 6-1 in the battle of wild cards.
Canadian Aleksandra Wozniak scored another upset of the day with a 6-4, 6-3 victory over seventh seeded Shahar Peer of Israel.
"It was a really good win for me today," said Wozniak said. "It's a big change from the hard to the red clay so there are still some things I need to work on. I just need to keep being patient and try to play well on the important points."
In other match of the day, fourth seeded Klara Zakopalova battled past British Anne Keothavong 7-6(3), 3-6, 6-2 to reach the second round.
Also, fifth seeded Marina Erakovic prevailed 76(3) 36 76(2) against Pauline Parmentier and sixth seeded Petra Martic downed localite Csilla Borsanyi 6-0, 7-5.
