After losing the first set in a stiff tie-breaker, Samantha Stosur found her rhythm and thoroughly dominated the next two sets to emerge victorious in a relatively easy contest with a 6(5)-7 6-1 6-0 scoreline in the quarterfinal match of the Aegon International, being played here in Eastbourne, England.
Both the players held on to their serves in the first set and it went into a tie-breaker, where Baltacha won 7-6 (5). Stosur had a few opportunities in the first set, but she could not capitalize on them and let it go on a tame note.

The second-set saw the emergence of Stosur, as she got hold of the proceedings from the very first game of the second set and won five games in a row. Baltacha saved some grace by winning a game, but lost the set 1-6.
The trend continued in the third set as Stosur broke Baltacha three times and did not allow her to win a single game, and finally the Australian took the third set with a 6-0 score and stormed into the Semis.
