Feliciano Lopez and Fernando Verdasco lifted Spain 2-1up against Argentina in the Davis Cup Finals after they prevailed against David Nalbandian and Augustin Calleri 5-7,7-5,7-6(5), 6-3 in the doubles.
The match started with intense battle between the two pairs.Both the teams hold their serve untill Argentines broke Verdsasco serve in the eleventh game and subsequently took the next game to wrap the set 7-5 .But in second set Spain broke Nalbandian serve at 6-5 and managed to even the set score 1-1.
The third set was a thriller,Spaniards brokeArgentine pair succesively to garner 5-1 lead but Argentine refused to relent and came back in thrilling fashion to make it 5 each. This comeback pumped up the crowd and cheering became louder and louder.The crowd went silent when Spaniards won six straight points and eventually the set 7-5.
In the final set Spanish pair continued to let momentum flow their way and they cruised to win the set 6-3. The victory boosted Spain's hope of winning the Davis Cup third time on sunday . �This was an impotant victory, it gives us life.
