Spain pulverised defending champion USA to book berth in world group final here at Madrid. The Spaniards who were clear favourites, dominated all through the series and swept past the tie 4-1.

The opening match between Nadal and Querry started amongst colourful and high spirited crowd at Madrid. Querry who replaced Blake at the last minute ,was successfull in giving early jitters to Nadal. He managed to take first set 7-6(7/5).Nadal took control of the situation as he outclassed Querry with some superb rallies and marvellous passing shots. Nadal raced to win the match 6-7(5/7) 6-4 6-3 6-4.David ferrer toiled hard as he defeated Roddick 7-6(7/5) 2-6 ,1-6,6-4,8-6.Both the players wasted many oppurtunities to capitalise but in the end Ferrer held his nerves and romped home.Spain took2-0 lead on the opening day.

On the second day,Mike Bryan and Mardy Fish rallied to defeat Fernando Verdasco and Feliciano Lopez 4-6 6-4 6-3 4-6 6-4 to kept afloat hopes of winning the five match tie.Mike Bryan playingOn the final day Nadal stamped Spain place in the final when he easily cruised to victory against Roddick 6-4 6-0 6-4. World no 1 Nadal looked high on adrenaline and produced superb passing shots against serve and volley of Roddick. Soon Felicano joined the celebrations as he surpassed Querry to win the match 7-6(7/3) 7-6(7/4)
