Sharapova withdraws from Rogers Cup
Maria Sharapova has pulled out of the Rogers Cup, Montreal because of a left foot injury.

 

Maria Sharapova of Russia has withdrawn from Rogers Cup because of a left foot injury

Sharapova said she hurt her foot in the Cincinnati Open final defeat againt Kim Clijsters on Sunday.

"I felt some pain in my foot late in the second set which kind of scared me so I have been forced to pull out of Montreal," qouted Sharapova on her official website.

The Russian is hoping the injury will heal before US Open, which begins on August 30.

She added "I am hoping I just need a few days of rest"
