Sharapova, Clijsters crash out of Wimbledon
Maria Sharapova and Kim Clijsters suffered shocking defeats at Wimbledon after their respective opponents, Sabine Lisicki and Angelique Kerber outplayed them in the fourth round.

It was a great day for German tennis as two of their players, Sabine Lisicki and Angelique Kerber overcame a stiff challenge with rather ease when they defeated Maria Sharapova and Kim Clijsters respectively in straight sets to progress into the quarter-finals at Wimbledon. This ensured a German in the semi-finals as the two face each other in the last 8.

The first one to be eliminated was World No.1 Sharapova, who was simply overpowered by the yound and talented Lisicki. Lisicki won the match 6-4, 6-3 in an hour and 24 minutes, all thanks to her 18 winners and 6 aces. Lisicki broke the Sharapova serve times to really grab hold of the match. She finished the match with an ace. Sharapova was simply just out performed as Lisicki kept hitting hard and deep and got its reward.

The second one to bid adieu to her Wimbledon dreams was Clijsters, who was simply crushed by Kerber 6-1, 6-1 in under an hour. Kerber displayed some really amazing tennis and justified why she belongs in the Top-10 club. She smacked 19 winners and won 11 out 12 net points to simply humble the Former World No.1 Kerber broke the Belgian's serve 5 times as she did not let Clijsters have things going her way right from the start.

It will be enticing to see how well the two play in the quarter-finals against each other and who prevails as both players have displayed some stupendous form.
