Serena Williams who won Season Ending Championships defating her elder sister Venus Williams in the final has pulled out of the next week's Fed Cup final against Italy due to exertion.
Serena Williams who won the Season Ending Championships defeating her elder sister Venus Williams in the finals has pulled out of the next week's Fed Cup final against Italy due to exertion.
Serena said "I definitely really wanted to go, but I don't think I would do well physically "
She added "It's very difficult to play such a mental, mental week and then come back and play again right now I'm just struggling in every aspect of my body."
World No 1 Serena has not played for the United States since 2007.
Vania King has been named as replacement for Serena. The American squads now consist of Melanie Oudin, Alexa Glatch,Vania King and Liezel Huber.
