Serena Williams is considered one of the most happening celebrities in the tennis world. She manages to be in the news all year round. After her 4th major triumph at Wimbledon, Williams graced the leading magazines - Sports Illustrated and Harper Bazaar with her impressive demeanour and style.
One of Williams' backhand drive shots from this year's Wimbledon appears on the cover of SI's latest issue whereas Harper Bazaar has chosen to give the American a different kind of makeover with short hair and a sleeveless pink dress with matching and complimenting belt, giving Serena that lean look.
Williams has previously covered the ESPN and SI swimsuit issue and made headlines around the world after posing nude for ESPN magazine.
When asked about her super fit body and comparisons with sister Venus, Serena commented - "I was 23 when I realized that I wasn't Venus. She's totally different. I'm super-curvy. I have big boobs and this massive butt. She's tall and she's like a model and she fits everything. I was growing up, wanting to be her, wanting to look like her, and I was always fitting in her clothes, but then one day I couldn't. But it's fine. Now I'm obviously good, but it's a weird thing."
Williams also revealed the secrets for her better, sexier lean look after the Australian Open this year - "I wanted to get really fit. I wanted to lose some weight. So I've been doing Pilates and yoga, trying to lean out my body so I won’t be bulky."
In an article titled - Love Her, Hate Her, She's the Best Ever, written by L.Jon Wortheim for Sports Illustrated's latest issue, Williams has been applauded for her tremendous on-court achievements.
Interestingly, Serena wants to be in headlines for things other than tennis and fashion as well. After opening her second School in Kenya for the under privileged children, Serena has taken up more such assignments to provide education for the ones who are in need, not only in the African continent but also in America and other parts of the world.
In a candid interview given after her Wimbledon Final triumph, Serena said - "At the end of the day, I would love to open more schools in Africa or in the United States, and I would love to help people. I would like to be remembered, Okay, yeah, she was a tennis player, but, wow, she really did a lot to inspire other people and help other people. That's what I think about, not about Serena Williams won X amount of Grand Slams."
