Defending champion Serena Williams turned out to be a lone survivor in a day full of upsets at the Championships and secured her place in the semifinals of the 2010 Wimbledon with a confident win over Chinese star Na Li.

Williams opened the match under tight competition, as expected, and broke Na Li's serve in the eleventh game to claim the opening set by 7 games to 5. The second set brought early success for Williams who broke Li's serve in the fifth game to race to a comfortable 5-2 lead. Li did make an effort to get back into the match by getting one of the breaks back but Williams resumed control of the match immediately and completed the 7-5, 6-3 win in 79 minutes of play.
Williams now meets the winner of the match between Estonian Kaia Kanepi and Czech Petra Kvitova, which is already underway on Court 1.
