Reigning world number one and Wimbledon Champion, Serena Williams confirmed her lead role at the Hopman Cup which will be held next year. Serbian Champion Novak Djokovic also confirmed his lead over the quality field at Hopman Cup. The Belgian Grand Slam singles champion, Justine Henin will also be participating for the first time at the mixed teams championships in Perth from January 1-8.
World number two, Novak Djokovic will be teaming up with Ana Ivanovic as Williams will be partnered by marathon man, John Isner at the event. The big serving Isner will be taking the driving seat with Wiliams to pound their rivals. Isner had attained much deserved fame as he won the longest match in the history of tennis at a score of 70-68 in the fifth set.
Djokovic was quoted as saying, "I'm looking forward to going back to the Hopman Cup. It was a good preparation for the Australian Open." French phenomenon, Gael Monfils and Australian Veteran, Lleyton Hewitt are yet to confirm their entries and carry their local hopes at the Hopman Cup
