Serena Williams won WTA Player of the Year award for the fourth time in her career. The American tennis powerhouse also won the award following the 2002, 2008 and 2009 seasons. Only Steffi Graf and Martina Navratilova have won more WTA player of the year awards than Serena Williams.
The American has been named the WTA's Player of the Year after winning major titles at Wimbledon and the U.S. Open, and claiming gold at the London Olympics.
Serena has earned 15 Grand Slam singles titles and four Olympic gold medals. She had a 48-2 win-loss record for the final seven months of the WTA season.
