World No 6 Samantha Stosur of Australia faces Dominika Cibulkova of Slovakia in the quarter-final match of French Open 2012.
Current U.S Open champion Stosur is a 2010 finalist here and reached the semis before in 2009. However this year things are not going her way in 2012 as she had 22-11 win loss record and is still chaising her first title this season. The Aussie reached the semis of Charleston and then till quarter-finals both at Stuttgart and Madrid Open.
At Paris this year, she defeated Elena Baltacha in the first round and then ousted Irina Falconi in the second round. She edged past Russian Nadia Petrova in the third round and survived a stiff resistance from Sloane Stephens in the pre-quarters.
Her opponent today is Dominika Cibulkova, who is among the shortest player on tour but produced a giant performance in her last match to upset World No 1 Victoria Azarenka. Her win-loss record stands at 16-14 in this tournament
Both players have met once and Stosur won the last meeting with 6-4, 6-3 scoreline at Stanford in 2009.
TennisEarth Pick: Stosur to win in three sets.
