Caroline Woznicki is coming into the tournament after a surprising second round loss against Bartoli at Cincinnati last week. She will be playing the Russian for the fifth time in her proffessional carrier. Sharapova is ranked at world number 2 among the WTA rankings. Kuznetsova on the other hand is ranked at 16 among the rankings.
Wozniacki would not want to repeat her mistakes that she made in Cincinnati this year as she lost to Bartoli in the round of 16. An improvement in her match play will be expected of her at the ogers Cup. Wozniacki has a win/loss record of 36/14 this year. Kuznetsova on the other has a lot of work to do as she has a win/loss record of 18/13 this year. The Head-tohead stands at 2-2. Wozniacki emerged victorious in the last meeting in last year's US Open as she won in three well fought sets
Wozniacki uses her big serve and follows it up with angled forehands to accomplish what she desires in any match she plays. Wozniacki was playing fluently in the quarter finals as she registered a n easy victory over Sshiavone in straight sets. Kuznetsova will have to raise the bar of her to match her pace with Wozniacki and manage to pull the Dane to the brink of her game. The match should be challenging as Kuznetsova has to display a free minded performance against Wozniacki who will try and flaunt her aggressive style of matchplay today.
