Andy Roddick hammered 16 Aces to subdue his compatriot Sam Querrey in straight sets with a 7-5 7-6 (6) scoreline and reached the pre-quarterfinal of the Davidoff Swiss Indoors Tournament, and ATP World Tour 500 Event, being played here in Basel, Switzerland.

Roddick finally wrapped up the match in 98 minutes by earning 76% points on his first serve with the help of 10 winners in total.

Roddick pocketed a well-fought first set in 44 minutes by getting the coveted break in the defining twelfth game. Roddick kept things well in control and made the most of his probing serve to held on his serve and earned 72% points on his first serve with 6 forehand winners to make it an easy task for him. Querrey had minimum opportunities and he failed to make the most of them and finally lost the first set.
