Dutchman Robin Haase claimed his second ATP World Tour title on Saturday by winning the 2012 bet-at-home Cup. Defending champion Haase was up against top seeded Philipp Kohlschreiber of Germany in that rain-interrupted title match, but he played superbly and made a comeback from a first set down to beat the German with a 6-7(2), 6-3, 6-2 scoreline in two hours and eight minutes.
With this victory Haase improved to 9-0 lifetime at the ATP World Tour 250 clay-court tournament.
"I didn't feel too much pressure even if I was the defending champion," said Haase. "I was a bit nervous in the first match against Philipp Oswald. From the quarter-finals on, I started a bit nervously before calming down and winning. I'm happy I won here again. I don't think many players have won here twice. It doesn't happen too often nowadays. I'm very proud of that."
Besides claiming his second ATP World Tour title, the Dutchman also earned 250 ATP Rankings points. Kohlschreiber looked in complete control in the first set, but could not maintain that momentum in the second set. And, after earning the equalizer by winning the second-set, Haase looked like a different played altogether in the final set – and he sailed home with victory.
