It was one day when rain was hugely anticipated and it did not prove anyone wrong when rain kept pouring and forced the matches to be rescheduled. One of those matches was between Maria Sharapova and Marion Bartoli.
Marion Bartoli led Sharapova 4-0, 15-30 after displaying some flawless tennis and shocked the world and Sharapova too before going into the rain break. She would not have wanted this rain delay as the momentum was with her and she was cruising through this match.
Sharapova, on the other hand, would thank the rain gods as they came to her rescue again. Remember it was the rain interrupted match against Nadia Petrova that she won after being in a tricky situation.
The match has been rescheduled for tomorrow.
