Rafael Nadal to take final call on US Open participation this week
Rafael Nadal, the World No. 2 will take a final call by the end of this week on his participation in the US Open.

French Open Winner and defending US Open champion Rafael Nadal is expected to decide by the end of this week whether he will participate in the final Grand Slam of the year or not. The Spaniard recently pulled out of the Rogers Cup and the Cincinnati Masters due to his right wrist injury which he suffered during a practice session last month.

"He went for a check (up) today in Barcelona and (the) imagery looks as predicted. He will practice in the next days and decide on Friday or Saturday," his spokesman said ahead of the US Grand Slam which starts on August 25.

The 28-year-old Majorcan started training with his team a week back and posted a few pictures and a video of himself on the social networking sites in which he is clearly seen sweating it out on court in the presence of his coach Toni Nadal.

“Making the most of these days to continue training, always with desire and optimism," Nadal wrote on his Facebook page.
