Rafael Nadal is back to strengthen the position of Spain in the Davis Cup. The World No. 1 Spaniard has fully recovered from a thigh injury and he is all set to play for Spain in the Davis Cup against Belgium.
Nadal was ousted in quarterfinals of the Australian Open 2011 by his compatriot David Ferrer and during that match; the World No. 1 injured his left hamstring. But, now he has fully recovered from that injury after taking proper rest.
Nadal is expected to play in the opening singles match on Friday in Davis Cup.
When asked about his preparation, Nadal said, “If I am here, it is because, physically, I am 100 percent.”
Spain is crushing favourite against Belgium, as their team is studded with top-10 players including Rafael Nadal, David Ferrer and Fernando Verdasco.
On the other hand, Belgium’s team includes Xavier Mallisse and Olivier Rocus – both are ranked outside Top 50.
Nadal further added, “I am practicing hard. If the captain thinks I am the right player to start on Friday, I will do my best. We will see.”
