They say you lose some, you gain some, that however was not the case when it came to Polish sensation Agnieszka Radwanska as she lost to Serena Williams in a hard fought encounter on Centre Court on Saturday. She hence ended the tournament as a losing finalist after putting on a good show.
With that defeat Radwanska also threw away the chance of becoming World No.1. She does however take back a bucket load of points which now make her the World No.2.
Her rival Victoria Azarenka however gained from it and Azarenka's consistent performance helped her get to the pinnacle of the ranking charts once more.
After winning the French Open, Russian Maria Sharapova had claimed the No.1 spot from the Belarusian who had held the spot for 19 weeks prior to that. Sharapova's early exit from the All England Club made Azarenka's task much easier.
