Ready to boost up their grass-court preparations prior to the start of Wimbledon, some of the most prominent WTA stars have gathered at Eastbourne to battle it out in the WTA AEGON International Event. This tournament has been remained one of the most anticipated WTA events since 1974, as leading WTA contenders participate in this tournament to give finishing touch to their preparations before Wimbledon.

This year, once again the draw has been adorned by names of some notable WTA stars. Well, the top-seed has been given to Agnieszka Radwanska, followed up by Petra Kvitova. Both of these contenders would be looking forward to make the most of their time in Eastbourne that can give them the right momentum before Wimbledon.

Last season, Petra Kvitova finished as a runner-up in Eastbourne and then went on to win the title at Wimbledon.  Well, Kvitova will take on 2010 champion Ekaterina Makarova in her opening encounter here.

On the other hand, top-seeded Radwanska will start off her Eastbourne campaign against former Wimbledon semi-finalist Tsvetana Pironkova. The other seeds in the Radwanska's half are defending champion Marion Bartoli, former runner-up Daniela Hantuchova and Lucie Safarova.
