Second-seeded and former champion Sam Querrey of USA extended his winning streak to twelve matches at the Farmers Classic tournament on Saturday. Querrey earned a 6-3, 7-6(4) victory in his all-American semi-final duel against World No. 117 Rajeev Ram in Los Angeles on Saturday.
Former champion here in 2009-10, Sam Querrey fired 11 aces to subdue Ram in one hour and 36 minutes of play. In the final on Sunday, Querrey will take on Lithuanian qualifier Ricardas Berankis.
Former junior World No. 1 Berankis reached his first ATP World Tour final with a 7-5, 6-1 win over sixth-seeded Australian Marinko Matosevic on Saturday in the second semi-final clash. Berankis did not face a single break-point in this 70 minute match. Berankis must be looking to become the first player to win a maiden ATP World Tour title this season.
