Petra Kvitova wins Connecticut Open title
Wimbledon Champion Petra Kvitova produced a scintillating performance against Magdalena Rybarikova to win her second title at New Haven.

Two time Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova defeat Slovakia’s Magdalena Rybarikova in straight sets with a 6-4, 6-2scoreline to win the US open warm-up event on Sunday in New Havens. The World No.4 survived a break-point in the opening game before settling down in the match to break the serve of her opponent in the sixth game to pocket the first set with a 6-4 scorecard.

The second set turned out to be a walk in the park for Petra as she achieved twin breaks of serve before wrapping up the set 6-2 and the match to secure her second title of the year.

“It was great to win the title. I’m very happy to play the final like that,” Kvitova said. “Hopefully I can show that at the US Open.”

“I needed some matches before the US Open so I’m very proud of getting through like that,” Kvitova said.

“I’ll enjoy today but from tomorrow I will focus on the US Open.”

j Well deserved win for Kvitova. She played well through the whole tournament and seems to be in a very good form before the open. It's normally not the case for her but nice to see it this year. Go make a good US Open.
