Petra Kvitova vs Shuai Peng: Wimbledon Pre-Quarterfinal Preview
After getting through a tough battle against former five-time champion Venus Williams on Friday, 2011 champion Petra Kvitova is set to collide with Chinese Shuai Peng in the second match on Court No.2 today.

2011 Champion Petra Kvitova put in a performance of top quality on Friday as she managed to overcome former five-time champion Venus Williams on Centre Court, delighting the crowd and her fans with her display of attacking tennis.

Known to be a flaky player in general, the southpaw was splendid all through the match on the day, matching Williams shot for shot as she came from a set down to register a morale boosting win. Though, she was expected to win on the day, with the former champion you are never really sure. Had she been a notch below her level on the day, she would have been eliminated from the event as Venus was in full flow.

However, on days that Kvitova does find her range she is next to unstoppable. When she won the title in 2011, she showed us just what she is capable of and she has the chance of doing the same this year especially after Serena Williams’ unexpected exit on Saturday.

Kvitova, along with Maria Sharapova, must be looked upon as the favourites to win the title here this week as they are the only two players left in the draw who have the experience of winning the title here. With her game coming along smoothly in the first three matches, the Czech will be confident of making a deep run this year.

Since her triumph two years ago, she hasn’t made it past the quarterfinal stage and she will be hoping she can break that jinx this year.

Opposite Kvitova stands China’s Shuai Peng who is ranked at 61st place in the world at the moment. Peng has a poor win-loss record of 17-14 this year and comes into today’s match as a massive underdog.

Head to Head: This is the fifth time that the two are playing one another with the Czech having a whitewash 4-0 lead at the moment.
