Top seeded Italian Flavia Pennetta made an impressive start to her 2010 season with a straight sets win over American veteran Jill Craybas to reach the second round of the 2010 ASB Classic Tennis tournament, being played here in Auckland, New Zealand.
Pennetta pocketed the opening set with a loss of just two games and after facing slight resistance in the second, registered the 6-2, 6-4 win in 67 minutes of play.
The Italian was later joined by Belgian prodigy Yanina Wickmayer, who got the better of German Julia Goerges 6-3, 7-5 in a one hour 36 minute match.
